Confidentiality
The information provided will be treated anonymously and confidentially and may only be discussed with my supervisors. The recording of your informed consent will be stored separately from the responses you provide. All the data, including the audio-recording (if applicable), will be stored securely and in line with the Data Protection Act (2018).
I will write a report based on your responses and those of others, however, this report will not identify any individuals. For example, if many other people mention a common barrier that they found in accessing support, I will write about that without identifying who said those things. In order to disseminate research to the public and academic community, your anonymised data may also be part of a research publication, conference presentation or public talk.
If participating in the interview, if you provide me with information that makes me think that you or others are at a situation of extreme immediate harm or are being harmed and may not be able to act to protect themselves, I may need to share this information with the helpline of Action on Elder Abuse in order to ask for advice.
